Salem's Parlor Magic Experience
An Autumn 2026 Engagement · Salem, Massachusetts · Dates Forthcoming

About the Show

Misfortune is an hour-long theatrical magic show conjured by magician Evan Northrup. Set in Salem, Massachusetts, it walks the eerie line between superstition and luck — blending immersive storytelling with astonishing sleight-of-hand.

It is mysterious, a little spooky, and always magical and fun. Seating is kept intentionally small, so the wonder happens close enough to touch.

Intended for adults; the curious aged 13 and over are welcome.

Venue & Partner

Exterior of the Salem Athenaeum

Performances take place at the Salem Athenaeum, a 19th-century membership library dating to 1810, just steps from downtown Salem. Its intimate reading rooms make the perfect setting for close-up magic — guests are inside the mystery from the moment they step through the door.

In October the Witch City fills with visitors — more than a million came to Salem in 2024, and the numbers keep climbing. Our partnership ensures residents and travelers alike can enjoy a world-class theatrical experience without leaving town.
